Jim and our friend, Shawn, shared a birthday (and a birthday cake) over the weekend. It seemed as if a good time was had by all.

More Good Times To Be Had: - Vintage Typewriter Necklaces from Walrus & The Carpenter (I wore mine to the party and got tons of compliments, Giao!) - Donut Dolls from My Paper Crane (all her stuff is ridiculously cute but these take the cake...pun intended) - Felt Pins from Plain Mabel (mmm, cupcake) - One of a Kind Mirrors from Looking Glass Girl - Beautiful Photo Albums from Rainy Sunday (I've mentioned her shop before and I hate to be repetative but I traded her one of her albums for a purse at the RCF and I definitely got the better deal!) For Jim's Birthday Tuesday Gift, I baked him homemade Vegetarian Pot Pies. I had remembered the basics of a recipe I had seen in Real Simple and figured I could just wing it. Surprisingly, they turned out just fine. Basically, all you have to do it buy a bag of frozen veggies (I liked the Fiesta Mix since it also had some yummy beans in it), Cream of Potato Soup and some pre-made Pastry Shells. Mix the thawed out veggies with the soup and then scoop mixture into small pie plates (you could also buy the disposable ones). Roll out the pre-made pie shells until they are large enough to fit around your pie plate, affix edges, cut holes and then cook for approx. 30 mins. So easy, huh? And perfect for the first day of Autumn! Yay, Fall is here! Tuesday, September 21, 2004
Whew, am I pooped!

Renegade Craft Fair went amazingly well! Made some money, spent some money and met some wonderful people! Giao and Jess were so amazing wonderful and I think there was a great mixture of fun indie products at our booth. It really turned out quite well...and I had a fun little shopping spree at H&M on Monday. Only down side, is that I terribly miss my sister now. Angelica and Tracy, thank you so much for everything...and we miss you so much! Here are a few pics: Booth Pic 1 Booth Pic 2 The Three Amigos Tapas and Sangria on Sat. Giao and Jess, it was amazing meeting you guys and your fabulous families! Can't wait until next year! Saturday, September 11, 2004
I'm so sad...there's something going on with Richard Parker's back legs. They shake really badly when he walks or tries to stand. He's pretty much lost all motivation to move about, which is so unusual since he was so crazy active up until two days ago. The vet gave him a steroid, explaining that he probably just landed on something wrong but now that I'm thinking about it, he's had a funny gait for a while now and had a slight case of the shaky legs as far as a couple weeks ago. Anybody have any experience with this?

Buying fabric really is an addiction. Friday, September 03, 2004
Well, it's that time again!!! In appreciation of all the wonderful Indie Shoppers out there, a great group of indie businesses have gotten together to create the Happily Handmade Giveaway. How could you be one of the lucky winners of such a basket? I'm glad you asked! Just strut on over to http://www.gerberadesigns.com/happilyhandmade.html and sign up for our (somewhat) monthly newsletter and you'll be entered in the drawing to be held October 2, 2004. Good Luck! So let's talk about addictions. It's interesting how they creep into your world and slowly but persistently take over. Try as you may to ignore them, they are always on the back of your mind, pestering you for attention and sooner or later, you'll give in...you always do.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am proud to admit that I am absolutely addicted to Awful Cufflinks. Granted I'm an addict when it comes to checking most of my blogs (see right column) but Awful Cufflinks is my latest obsession. Knowing this, you can imagine my joy and surprise at the entry for August 9th...ah, it really is the simple things. AND...between Awful Krissy and Awful Tara, it's updated pretty much every day...further adding to my disease...does the madness ever end? A couple days ago they spotlighted The Sampler, where indie shoppers can subscribe to have a little bag of indie goodness sent to them every month. I'm already in love with everything from this month's Sampler! And if you're an indie shop, don't forget to sign up as a contributor for next month! You get publicity and they get a fun surprise package in the mail, everyone wins with this one!
