Hmmm....

That's it, I've got it.

I want to open a vegetarian sushi place called Nemo's. We'll even serve on little fish plates that have lucky fins.

mmm, sushi.

Friday, whew!

Jim and I just had a full conversation about the difficulties humans would face if they had to poop upright. Ahh, reason #1128633 why I married him: you don't get this type of conversation with just anyone.

I was able to squeeze a visit to our favorite thrift store last Tuesday. I'm building quite the collection of vintage fabrics. Now all I have to do is start making them into purses for Renegade Chicago.

Here's a small sample of my recent finds:

Off to sew purses!

Sleepy Nessa

Don't have too much time, got to rush off to class, but here are a few things that made starting classes again bearable.

Etsy finds:
Toothy Pincushion - hah, I'd love to show up to my Basic Pattern Making with this!
Luva Hoot Owl Tote - perfect for carrying around school books
Chocolate Cherry Pecan Bark - isn't chocolate supposed to be good for the memory?
Pink Chickie - come around finals, this little birdie would surely cheer me up
To Do List Notepad - I am the queen of "To Do" lists
Pea Pod Catnip Toy - Kitty's going to be so bored while I'm at school
Wool Applique Skirt - do 27-year olds get new "school clothes" too?

Humph, off to Motivation and Leadership...

September? Already?

It's that time again...I'm starting classes on Monday and while one part of me is excited, the other side is anxious because it's just one more ball to add to my already somewhat unstable juggle. The little motivational speaker that sits right behind my left ear, sure has his job cut out for him for the next few months!

I'm taking Textile Sciences this semester. It has the reputation of being difficult, but I think it's going to be really interesting. I'm somewhat familiar with fabrics right now but I'm going to love to be able to know a lot more about the chemical make up and characteristics. I'm a fabric geek, I guess.

What do you think of the new screenprinted covers? Jim is the mastermind behind the design and I think he's done a smashing job.

They'll come in the iPod Mini and iPod sizes and the inside is lined with grey. Definitely not as girly as my other ones but just as much fun!

Have a great weekend!

The Switchboards Are Down

Just in case anyone is wondering, The Switchboards are down due to us transferring the domain from one server to another. Thanks to everyone's generous donations, we were able to get a lovely hosting plan that gave us plenty of bandwidth to grow into!

We should be back within 48 hours, better than ever!

Good Day Sunshine!

First of all, good news...Zefram is now home where he belongs. Unfortunately for him, his "manhood" didn't survive the safe journey home. Don't worry Pati, you'll always be his girlfriend, even if he doesn't hump your leg.

Now I've just got to make sure he doesn't lick open the sutures. Eww.

Second bit of good news, I've finally added a new screenprinted special edition cover. I was going to do an image that was a little less girly but I just couldn't resist the sweetness of a strawberry!

Have a great Tuesday!

Poor Zefram

Our poor little puppy is getting neutered today. It's so lonely around the house right now. Good thing we can pick him up at 4 today because I want my little puppy (not so little) back!

Some happy things:
- Intuition razor (2 steps in one! I love it!)
- Bowman (caution: very addictive!)
- Funny Kid (dancing with him helps relieve stress)
- How to Fold a Shirt (it really works!)
- Spinning Fingers (tee hee)

All of the links (except the first one, which is thanks to Angelica) courtesy of Stumble Upon, the greatest way to waste away your morning.

Vacation's Over!

Last Wednesday I flew to Houston, where I met up with my brother in law and my sisters. I had never been to Houston but I really liked what I saw; cute artsy areas, fabulous food and beautiful green grass everywhere! Coming from El Paso, you're really stunned at how green Houston is.

We all drove the four hours up to Dallas to see a couple aunts and a ton of cousins. There's nothing like a couple bottles of wine to loosen up a group of women and before we knew it, girly jokes and contagious giggles were heard throughout the house.

Went to my 7 and 9 year old Cousins' birthday party on Sat. Ate portabella mushroom hamburgers, drank Micheladas and watched my cousins hoard their Sponge Bob and Bratz gifts. Good times.

My sisters, Jeremy and I drove back down to Houston late Sunday night (actually, Jeremy drove and the rest of us just snored). Monday we went thrift shopping and got emotional (like only sisters can do.)

Now I'm back home and ready to get back to work! If you ordered an iPod cover over the last week; no worries, your cover will still go out on time.

Here are a few more pictures if you're still interested:

With the exception of our International friends, all the promo packs have been sent out! And while, Leah and I never expect to gain anything in return (except some promos for our own shops!), it's such a nice surprise when some shops include cute little gifts just because!

Check out this great headband from Dishy Duds! I couldn't find them on her site but check out all her other great products. I think this tee fits my personality perfectly!

Seven Six Designs sent sweet little "Heels Rock" bookmarks, you all are going to love them! I'm looking at my magnet on my filing cabinet right now. Love it.

Speaking of Switchboard gals, I'm so proud of the strong Switchboard presence among the winners of Style Bakery's Designers on the Rise contest!

We've always known that you ladies rock, now everyone else does too!

The Switchboards

I will be sending out everyone's Promo Swap packages today. It's getting harder and harder to fit all the promos in the little Flat Rate envelopes, especially those shops that wanted more than 100 back. Not quite sure what to do about it but September's swap is Leah's turn so we'll see if she has any ideas!

In all the craziness over making sure we didn't go over our bandwidth for a third time, I forgot to make any promos, argh. So I whipped this up last night and I guess they'll serve their purpose.

If you look really close, you could get in on some free shipping action!
