Thursday, August 31, 2006 Sorry the pics out of focus, still getting used to the new camera! Here's a pair of little birdie earrings I made the other day. I'm positive I'm not the first to have fake birds pirched (glued) on some hoops but they're always fun to wear. ____________________________ I was so excited to see My Paper Crane's donut keychains over at Kid Robot! I know they had her plushies earlier but keychains?! To cute! ____________________________ I think I pulled my adductor at either kickboxing or pilates. It pretty much hurts in my inner thigh/groin area. Teaching side kicks tonight is going to be a bundle of fun. :( ____________________________ I was thinking of trying these Peach Cupcakes with Martha Stewart's Mascarpone Frosting for my sister's rehersal dinner next weekend. She requested strawberries of some sort on the cupcakes so I thought maybe I could just substitute strawberries for the peaches the recipe calls for. Sounds yummy right? ____________________________ eeee, I'm so excited to be on Whip Up! You don't know how many times I resisted emailing them because I'm sure it would have sounded like I was saying "Me! Me! ME! Pick me! Look at me!" Matt Groening (1954- ) Thursday, August 24, 2006 Here's my submission for Thrifted Thursdays. Not the dog, silly, the bench! I found it a couple weeks ago at my favorite thrift store and instantly fell in love with the clean lines and details. It took me half an hour to figure out how to fit it in the backseat of the car but I was not leaving without it! It's probably a few inches too wide for our entryway but Clover doesn't seem to mind. ___________________ I'm really not happy with my new vacuum. It would be just fine if I didn't have three pets to contend with and that's not including the ridiculous amount of hair I shed. I think I'm just going to break down and by a Dyson Animal. Forking over 500 bucks for a vacuum isn't really my idea of a good time but if you use something all the time, like a vacuum or water bottle, the initial investment is worth it in the long run. It's the perfect compact size and the fabric is too sweet. But then again, I pretty much love everything at Uplifting Arts. Leah's creations always have this sense of simple elegance and peace that I definitely need in my hectic life. Thank you, Leah! _____________________ I really want to see Little Miss Sunshine this weekend. _____________________ Ah, "David's New Snail" is so cute (via Superhero Journal). His voice just kills me. Almost...almost makes me want a little boy of my own! Tuesday, August 22, 2006 I traded a wristlet for the most perfect little gift tags ever. It was tough to decide what to trade for since everything at Shades of Violet looked so nice! _________________ We've had a bit of rain over here lately so on Saturday, when he usually works on the yard, I convinced Jim to build me a photography stage. He pretty much adapted a tutorial I found on stock.xchng. I can't wait to start buying decorative paper to use as backgrounds! _________________ Oooo, I just stumbled upon a great site for making Vegan Loafs. You select all ingredients you want in your loaf and it creates a recipe for you. Mmm, I'm going to try my Black Bean and Veggie loaf this week! _________________ I'm a sucker for cute animal pictures! Monday, August 21, 2006 I made a little sewing kit for my sister to accompany the beautiful work apron I got from Textile Fetish. The kit consisted of a flower pin cushion, a covered tape measure, magnetic pad and pins with happy faces on them. Put it all in a handmade box that I added padding and fabric to. I hope she liked it! ________________________ Took the dogs swimming on Saturday. Actually, Zefram went swimming and Clover got to play with her doggy pal's Miles and Chile. I wish you all could see how much Zefram loves to swim. Crazy Goldens. ________________________ This is so cute I think I could cry. Friday, August 18, 2006 Here's a small sample of one of the things for my sister's wedding that I've been working on. Thank goodness I only had to hand emboss a dozen of these, the hand embossing is killer on my fingers! We couldn't find vertical red envelopes so I decided to make them. Ended up working out for the best since we could also add one of the embossed trees to the envelope flap. _______________________ Thanks to Ms. Shana over at pixelgirlshop, we've been super busy with iPod covers over here. She got us a mention in TeenPeople, woohoo. If I never see my Rainbow fabric again it'll be too soon. :D And wouldn't it figure, right in the middle of trying to complete all the orders and Sally the Sewing Machine decided to go on vacation. She always has horrible timing. _______________________ Don't forget, the deadline to ship off your promos for TSB swap is next Wednesday. I already got some and let me tell you, I was quite impressed with the effort that went into them. _______________________ Off to sew some purses! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Thursday, August 03, 2006 Just thought I'd let some of you know that we're having our Promo Swap over at TSB this month. I know Summer business is usually slow but we won't have another one until Sept. so now's the time to stock up on promos for the busy winter season. ______________________ It's been flooding like crazy over here. El Paso just isn't built to handle tons of rain all at once. The crappy part about that is that my dogs have been suffering from diarrhea for the last few days and I can't let them out all day because of the rain. We already had one accident with Zefram. Poor puppies. ______________________ I'm in dire need of a red dress for my sister's wedding. On one hand, it's nice that we get to pick any red dress for our bridesmaid's outfit but on the other hand, now I have to go out and find one. Any suggestions? ______________________ Wow, is it almost Friday already?
