Very Useful

We’re trying to get the dogs to use their doggy door. It’s actually pretty funny seeing them both try to fit at the same time. We’re thinking that maybe it’ll prevent some late night upset stomach sessions from sweet Clover Dover.

What?! I didn’t tell you guys about the time that I woke up to the worst vomit-inducing stench imaginable? Like any good wife, I immediately assumed it was my husband but soon realized that even Jim couldn’t create something so foul. There’s nothing quite like waking up in the middle of the night realizing your dog has diarrhea-ed over the entire living room floor. Good times.

My sweet husband had to clean up the entire mess since I was newly pregnant and just the smell alone was making me dry heave. It was probably in his best interest since the only thing worse than picking up your dog’s diarrhea is having to pick up dog diarrhea and your wife’s vomit.

So yeah, we’re hoping that the next time Clover needs to desperately go outside, she’ll use the doggy door and let us sleep in peace!

And since we’re on the topic of useful things, how about a little customer review on some of the products I was lusting over in the last year and was oh-so-lucky to receive:

Mary Janes - Still love! Kinda heavy but could be soooo much worse!

Herb Saver - Don’t know if they last as long as the site suggests (3 weeks) but they do last longer then usual. Worse part is remembering to use it!

Keen Timberlines - Super duper wonderful during the Winter! Inside feels like warm slippers, outside looks decent enough to be seen in public.

UtiliTEA Kettle - Makes the perfect cup of green tea! Super quick as well.

Threadless Tees
- I still love the designs but find the tees to be a bit short on me.

Juki Sewing Machine - Wouldn’t know…dealer never delivered. Ass.

Zombie Escape Plan - Very useful.

Salomon Tech Amphibians - Worked decently in Costa Rica (didn’t dry as quickly as I would have liked, Keens would have worked better) but even now, I still get plenty of use out of them.

Sisters

Poooooooooor meeeeeeee!

My sisters came into town this week within a day of each other and now they’re all gone. :( I had so much fun with each of them but now I’m sad. Come back, Yana and Gelica! Come back! WAaaAAaaa.

The good news is that Jackson somehow knew they were going to be in town and totally stepped up his movement enough for both of them to feel him. I think he’s taking after his mama, constantly moving the furniture around. Jim and I have started to see outside movement as well. I’m only 22 weeks and thought it was kinda early but there’s no way it’s not Jackson moving! Maybe he was really inspired by the Olympics? :D

And even more good news…we found our crib. Crazy, considering my sister, Adriana and I spent the last 2 months emailing back and forth about cribs that were either too expensive but beautiful or “not quite right” but in our price range. The one we found is 100% what we were looking for!

Miracles happen when I’m with my sisters. I love you guys!

Action Jackson

We’re 85% certain that the little one baking inside is a boy! A boy. I don’t even know where to begin with a boy. I come from a family of three girls with tons of aunts who had mostly girls. I’m clueless when it comes to boys. You’re going to have to take it easy on Mama, Jackson! She’s going to have to learn as she goes!

It was absolutely crazy seeing him move around during the sonogram. He’s a squirmy little thing! At some point he kept on kicking his little legs straight out and then back, like he was marching (or kickboxing?!). We also got to see him munching his little mouth and moving his hands all over the place. Absolutely amazing.

You know, for the last few weeks I had been feeling a good amount of pops or bubbles and thought there was no way they were all Jackson. Turns out they were. Let’s hope he settles down a bit by the time he greets the world!

A boy…oh my goodness.

My sister turned 36 yesterday…Happy Birthday Gelica!!! Oops, was I not suppose to tell the world your age? Sorry about that. Don’t worry too much, how many people could possibly read this blog?! Anyway, people still ask which one of us is older so you should be feeling pretty good considering I’m 6 years younger! In case anyone was wondering, I’m the one on the right.

Like Sesame Street, she pretty much kicks ass. Both my sisters do…they’re smart, beautiful and make me laugh so much I snort. It’s my opinion that you should surround yourself with people who make you laugh so much you either snort like Mr. Ed or dribble snot out your nose. If you’re not looking like an idiot, you’re not laughing hard enough.

Yeah, those are good people to have in your life. I’m lucky to have them as my sisters.

(Heh, just in case anyone misunderstood…the title of this post has absolutely nothing to do with my sister’s birthday!)

The Best

It’s nice to know that good ol’ Sesame Street is still kicking ass.

And on the subject of TV…how do those of you with little ones (under 2) feel about the tv? Do your kids watch it?
