Speckled Egg Wreath

Make a Speckled Egg Wreath without a wreath form! - A Tried & True ProjectWelcome the arrival of spring with a simple and sweet speckled egg wreath! I decided to make mine all blue but I also thought different pastel shades would have been pretty, too. Would love to see the different varieties you all come up with!

Speckled Egg Wreath - CloseupSupplies needed to make a speckled egg wreath:

Directions:

1. The paper mache eggs have a hollow plastic form under the paper coating so you’ll have to heat a metal point until warm enough to puncture both sides. Repeat with all the eggs.

Speckled Egg Wreath - Holes2. Paint each egg with the desired base color. Enlist help if necessary! :)

Speckled Egg Wreath - Insert wire3. Allow all the eggs to dry completely.

Speckled Egg Wreath - Paint eggs4. Assemble supplies necessary for splattering. Dip the toothbrush bristles in the paint and sweep your finger across them to create a speckled effect.

Some helpful hints: I found it easier to apply the paint when each egg was at the end of a wood skewer, a glove decreased the mess and an empty egg carton held the eggs while drying.

Speckled Egg Wreath - Prepare paint5. Allow the eggs to dry completely. Don’t worry if you mess up a couple while getting the hang of splattering, you can either paint over them or just omit them altogether (like I did with those bottom two!)

Speckled Egg Wreath - Splatter paint6. Thread the wire through the eggs. Wire length will differ depending on if you’re more careful than I was at painting. My wire ended up being 45″ long but yours may be longer or shorter. Enlist the help of a superhero if necessary!

“So Lucky” Coloring Print

Print out the "So Lucky" Coloring Print from Tried & TrueI’ve been working on this “So Lucky” Coloring Print since before Valentine’s Day and now I’m super excited to share it with you all! I was thrilled when Linda from Craftaholics Anonymous asked if I could make a exclusive print for St. Patrick’s Day for her website. Are you kidding? I was honored!

I had never drawn a special request before so it was kinda fun having some boundaries to work within. I gotta say, this was the hardest image to color! I colored it three different times and I’m still not 100% happy with any of the results. I’m using my ever handy Spectrum Noir pens in the picture above which worked fine but for some reason, I wasn’t digging the green color scheme. Maybe you’ll have better luck? I’d love to see what you come up with!

“Some Bunny Loves You” Door Hanger

Perfect for little treats! : "Some Bunny Loves You" Door Hanger for Easter/Spring | A Tried & True Project I just love this time of year! Everything starts coming back to life (at least in Texas!), sandals and flats are slowly added to the rotation and the days are long enough to actually play outside after dinner. Before you know it, we’ll be talking about entire days spent at the pool followed by family movie nights under the stars. Until then, let’s focus on Spring a little bit longer! ;)

Easter Door Hanger - With or without sign
Whether you celebrate Easter, Spring Equinox, or Holi, the one thing that is certain…kids love having surprises left on their doorknobs! For the little ones in your life, you can fill the basket with candy or a plastic egg. Older kids would probably love to get gift cards or jewelry (I know I would!)

“Some Bunny Loves You” Door Hanger

Materials:
- Free “Some Bunny Loves You” Printable (Studio, PDF)
- Textured Card Stock (white, pink, brown)
- Decorative Paper Treat Cups
- Martha Stewart Fine Tip Glue Pen
- Silhouette Cameo 0r Scissors

Use different papers with Silhouette for Easter or Spring1. Download the “Some Bunny Loves You” Free Printable Studio file if you have a Silhouette or PDF file if you’ll be cutting by hand. If using a Silhouette, layout your papers as shown above with the white paper trimmed back to 7″. Set the machine to the correct settings and proceed to cut shapes. If using scissors, just carefully cut out each of the shapes and proceed to step 4. Super easy either way!

Use a fine point glue pen for small parts of door hanger2. Use the fine tipped glue pen to assemble the feet. You’ll be glad the pen tip is so fine when you see how small the pads are!

Assemble the bunny face 3. Draw the face in and adhere the nose and ears.

Use paper treat cup to catch the Easter goodies4. Staple the basket to the body.

Attach arms to cup with fine glue pen5. Apply glue to hands and press in place.

Assemble and attach feet 6. Add feet.

Easter Door Hanger - Sign7. Glue sign sign together and attach to a toothpick with a piece of tape.

Easter Door Hanger 8. Wait until all the glue has dried completely and then fill with your desired treat!
