I’m thinking it’s a combination of stretching myself a little thin in the creative department and also wanting to be outside with the boys more lately. I’m not too worried, creativity always comes back, just need to relax a bit and open myself up to inspiration, right?

Market Tote

Pretty simple and straight-forward project to make a market tote with three kitchen towels. Extra points if you thrift them or find some cute ones at a Dollar Store. Use the front pocket to store your Market Produce Bags (check out link for tutorial!) or fold the whole thing up into the inside pocket and throw in your purse!

Chair Organizer

chairorganizer12

When we were deciding on baby stuff for the shower (wow, that was already a year ago!), we decided to go with a Space Saver high chair instead of your traditional stand alone variety. Our dining room is pretty much consumed by the extremely large table we accidentally ordered so there isn’t much room for anything else. Lately, our table has been cluttered by all the random baby feeding things like bibs, hand towels, puff containers, water bottles and so on and so on. I know this might come as a surprise to my Mother but I’m a big fan of a nice, clear dinning room table. I definitely needed someplace to put all of Jackson’s feeding junk.

I thought maybe someone else might need a chair organizer too so I whipped up this handy dandy tutorial. Keep in mind you might have to adjust the initial measurements to fit your own dining room chairs. That is unless you also happen to have the same wooden Navy Chairs we do! This project would also work great as a car catch all with some slight modifications.

Materials:
- fabric (I used laminated cotton for the lining)
- bias tape
- sewing supplies

Instructions:

1. Cut two 13″x15″ rectangles from both your fabric and lining.

2. Use random object (bias tape spool for me) to create curved edge. Cut.

3. Fold curved edge over to match sides. This will help you find the center of the curved edge.

4. Mark 1″ along the center crease and 1/2″ along the curved edge on either side of that line. Connect all lines, forming a triangle. Cut.

5. Fold triangle in on itself, matching each side. Sew along cut edge.

6. Repeat steps 2-5 with lining.

7. Place sewn fabric and lining together (wrong sides facing, matching all sides). Sew bias tape along the top, connecting the two. Feel free to add any embellishments.

8. Cut 58″ strand from bias tape. Holding newly connected fabric pieces together and beginning 9.5″ down on the bias tape, sew around the edges. Continue sewing to the end of the tape, folding the end under itself to make a finish edge. Repeat with other side.

9. You should now have two sides of your bag. All you have to do now is line up the sides and sew around the edges. There you go, now you have no excuse for having a messy table!
